CELL GROUPS
CORNERSTONE CHURCH OF ALBEMARLE

OUR HOME CELL GROUPS ARE NOT
ONE OF THE THINGS THAT WE DO..

MEETING FACE TO FACE FOR ONE-TO-ANOTHER MINISTRY IS A "MAIN EVENT"!

WHAT IS A CELL GROUP?

A Cell Group is three or more people who meet regularly to grow in their relationship with God and each other. Cell group members meet and communicate regularly to disciple one another and grow spiritually while reaching out to the world.   A cell group is 3–12 people committed to one another through relationship with Jesus. A Cell group is a basic Christian community not just a weekly meeting.

WHY DO WE HAVE CELL GROUPS?

The early church met "from house to house and in the temple courts..." Acts 5:42 The Sunday Celebration event is our large group “temple courts” event and the Cell group is the “house to house” event. At Cornerstone we believe in discipleship. Discipleship is partnering with other brothers and sister in relationship to follow Jesus, loving God with heart, soul, mind and strength. An hour on Sunday is not church. Church is the Body of Christ connected to each other through our relationship to Jesus, the head.

THE CELL GROUP IS THE BASIC UNIT OF THE CHURCH

Small groups are not just a program at Cornerstone. Participation in a cell group is essential to the vital mutual ministry that we read about in the New Testament. For that reason, everyone in our church is encouraged to become connected to the body of Christ in a cell group. The cell group is the place where needs are met and where we minister and care for one another as we follow Jesus together.
